Wings 

How the wings of an airplane work are quite a simple concept. The wings are shaped so that the air can go fast over top the wing and decreases the pressure of the air. Basically, the pressure on the top side of the wing is less than the bottom side of the wing. The difference in the pressure makes the wings lift into the air and the angle of the wing creates down-wash, that is the reaction force creating lift.
